How is the least important part of the equation.

I think one of the things that gets most of us all hung up on forward progress is not knowing exactly HOW to accomplish what you have been dreaming about.

Or maybe it’s just me?

I have been dreaming about this thing I’m doing right now for years, but I’ve been dragging my feet, because I wasn’t quite sure how to go about it.

I have a passion for helping women live life to it’s fullest – to fall headfirst into the thing that God created them to be and do…but how do I even do that? Who is even going to listen to me?

I spent a whole lot of time waiting to try to figure that out. If only I could bottle the passion in my heart and sell it, like that would be perfect…but then I’d pretty much be a modern day snake-oil salesman.

No, MY passion isn’t going to do you any good. It has to be you chasing after the thing that God placed you on the planet to do.

But, still, I’m stuck on the HOW.

And then I realized, the how is kind of irrelevant.

Let me explain.

Having a goal in mind is good. Definitely have that. But you do NOT need a step-by-step plan laid out before you take action.

Taking action is the key.

When you start, you don’t need to know how. God’s got that part under control. He will open doors, bring the right people to you, and make things happen that you would have never dreamed to hope for.

Trust me.

This doesn’t mean the path will always be easy. Actually, it’s kinda one of the hardest things you’ll ever do.

It requires faith, trust and maybe most importantly, hope.

But, again, most importantly, it requires ACTION. You definitely can’t get there by sitting on the couch and dreaming.

You have to start somewhere, so just get started!

  1. I am a dreamer as well but have found I have been most successful when I have just jumped into something and figured things out as I went along. You just have to go for it!

  2. Diana Tidswell says:

Very simple article but inspiring. What I do believe that if you want to attain something you should work for it and you need to trust God because you can’t do anything without Him.

  3. Joanna says:

You should definitely start thinking of a plan of action once you set up a goal. Otherwise how else would you accomplish it? When you divide it in steps you see exactly what you need to do to move forward. And it might not seem so far away once you start creating the plan.

  4. Brittany Srawbridge says:

I agree that taking an action is the key to achieve your goals and you must act now before its too late.

  5. Such an interesting post and made me think about my own goals and plans which is needed right now! It can be hard to get motivated sometimes can’t eve, even when you really want something!

  6. Sophia says:

I really love this blog post. This is such an important point to make and to be reminded of. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Miljana says:

Well pointed. And such a nice little test, seems I am way too perfectionist! 🙂

  8. Megan says:

My cousin relatively recently left her job she has had for years because she felt God wanted her for something else. Since then many good things have happened to them.

  9. Shannan P says:

This is such wonderful advice! We often get so caught up in the details, we lose sight of what our real goal is in the end.

  10. I totally agree with taking action is the key. Start and stop saying I dont know how. Just do something a little by day and you will see the result out in a week, a month or a year time. From zero to something big.

  11. Christa says:

I agree that a lot of people get overwhelmed with the how and it prevents them from moving forward. Just get started! Simple yet powerful advice.

  12. nicol says:

we need to remember, as with any goal, there’s failures, we just need to get back up and sometimes, you don’t always go according to the plan. there will be some diversions

  13. Danielle says:

I completely agree that having a goal in mind is good but you don’t need a step by step guide before actually taking steps towards that goal

  14. I’ve never thought about it quite like this but I can see how how is the least important part of the equation. I always get stuck on the how but it’s not up to me, it’s up to God.

  15. Ellie Plummer says:

This is definitely very interesting. I suppose if there is something you want to accomplish then you can make it happen ut you do need a plan of action.

  16. Kevin says:

Good article. It is easy to overthink life situations and worry about how we will get to our end destination.

  17. Elizabeth O says:

Definitely true, making a plan is best but it’s needed to take action in able to meet our wants. Action will bring the result.
