Need to Read: Wild

Need to Read: Wild

I’m an avid reader. Okay, avid is an understatement. Voracious would be a better word. I devour books. But I’m not the kind of gal who has to finish every book I start - I’ll walk away from anything I find boring without regret.

So, I can say without trepidation that if you haven’t yet read Wild by Cheryl Strayed, you are missing out.

Seriously. Aside from fictional places that are clearly not optional, I’ve never read a book that made me want to actually go to the setting so badly. (But, really, if I could go to Narnia or Middle Earth, I’d be there in a heartbeat).

The journey that Cheryl took is inspiring. It’s epic. It’s beyond anything you can even believe.

That woman is the very definition of strong. I’m tough - but she makes me look like a pansy.

I have never in my life been so excited about the idea of camping for months, tearing up my feet and living on cold food. After reading Wild, I was ready to pack and go immediately.

I mean…just look at this…

I haven’t seen the film yet, but if it’s anything like the book, it’s worth a look too.
