This is not a thinly veiled attack on anyone or anything that may or may not be launching at the moment. I think there is room for everyone, and a market for all businesses. And more power to the people who are killing it at the moment.

But this is me being annoyed with marketing tactics that don’t just imply but out and out say that the person who is launching the program is changing lives. Because that’s not true.

No one can change your life but you.

No one can make you get your butt out of bed every day and keep at it but you.

People can inspire you. They can support you. They can help supply you with information you didn’t have before that causes you to up your game – but they aren’t changing anything about your life.

YOU ARE.

The only instance, I think, that such a statement can be made is if you gave someone your kidney. Or your bone marrow. Or something that literally keeps them alive. Then you changed their life.

Everything else is baloney.

If you are thinking about spending your money on something that is supposed to change your life – check for a disclaimer at the bottom of the page that emphatically overstates that if you spend your hard earned cash on this stuff, you are the only one responsible for how you use it.

Because that right there – that proves what I’m saying. YOU are the only person that has the ability to change your life.

If the product you are thinking about buying will help you, by all means, go for it. But don’t buy based on promises that are vague. If you don’t have the time or energy or drive to follow through with the whole thing, don’t do it.

Only you can change your life.
