I love Jesus… but I cuss a little.

This one has been percolating in me for awhile. Brewing around, waiting for me to find all the words to say to get my meaning across. I’m still not 100% feeling like I’ve got it all formulated, but I guess it’s time to leave off the dragging of my feet and just put it out there. I grew up going to church. Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night, every week of my life until I moved out at the age of 18 1/2. But even having grown up in a church-y environment, I’ve never felt 100% comfortable around church […]

A Love Letter to My Sister (and maybe to you too).

November 22, 2018

How is the least important part of the equation.

I think one of the things that gets most of us all hung up on forward progress is not knowing exactly HOW to accomplish what you have been dreaming about. Or maybe it’s just me? I have been dreaming about this thing I’m doing right now for years, but I’ve been dragging my feet, because I wasn’t quite sure how to go about it. I have a passion for helping women live life to it’s fullest – to fall headfirst into the thing that God created them to be and do…but how do I even do that? Who is even […]

If you never leave the couch… you aren’t ever going to get anywhere.

Sitting on the couch, or lying in a hammock and daydreaming about “what if” is so easy to do. What if I let the nudges of inspiration lead me down the road I’ve been dreaming about? What if I told people about the mistakes I made, but how they truly changed everything for the better? What if I wrote that book and it ended up making me a shit-ton of money? What if I stopped daydreaming, and do it?   The daydreaming is easy. Sitting on the couch and thinking about the difference I could be making, is a daily […]

Don’t Let Anything Hold You Back

Alright, so I’m no spring chicken. I’m also not exactly fit. And when I need an excuse for why I can’t do something, those are two excellent options. So, I’d been dreaming of the re-purposing of this travel blog into a brand new travel-inspired project for weeks. Maybe even a few months… I’d already had it all planned out. Knew what I need to change. Had copy mostly written…but I needed pictures. I absolutely could NOT launch without new pics. First I kept thinking I needed to lose weight before I took them…because I can’t do much about my age, […]

Becoming More of Yourself

A voice in my head has been bugging me to make this video for DAYS. Another voice was telling me not to because… A ) Who is even going to watch it. B ) Why would anyone even care. C ) I don’t have a “Pro” environment in which to do it. All of that is just BS. So I did it anyway. What I want to achieve with this video is to inform you of three different ways I learned a WHOLE lot about myself + realized I actually do have some strengths/talents (because I really thought I didn’t, […]

I’d rather be a unicorn

Most little girls love princesses. They want to be a princess. I was not most little girls. Being a princess has not ever held any kind of draw for me. To me, being a princess means a confined life. One where you do what you are told. You listen to the rules. And you stay away from anything that might endanger you. Nope. Not for me. I was all about the unicorn, not the princess. Unicorns are free to be wild. They are sought after. And they are MAGICAL. All the things I wanted to be. I’ve always known this about […]

Hustle Your Own Way

I am a MONSTROUS fan of Gary Vaynerchuk. I’ve been paying attention to him for years. I find his videos to be relevant and the “audio experience” is my go-to for the treadmill. His hustle is total #goals. However, I’m a realistic gal. I know that I will not ever have the drive in me that he has. Doesn’t mean I’m not taking notes, though. This past Saturday, I had a mini-epiphany about the direction of my future, and it was due to some things he said. Actually, his words jumped right on the back of a conversation I had with […]

How Can I Have A Schedule When I’d Rather Be Spontaneous

When I plan a vacation, the only thing I really plan is the destination and where we will be staying. I prefer to keep things open to possibility. Which isn’t to say I don’t have things I want to see and do – just that I have not ever, and I mean EVER, been okay with an itinerary. Same goes with my daily schedule. I have a rough outline of what I need to do on any given day, but I don’t have hard and fast time frames around any of it. Got any idea how that’s working out for […]

Driving on Bald Tires Or We All Stick With Things A Little Longer Than We Should

A couple months ago I started to notice that my car had a shake when I was driving at certain speeds. I’ve been driving long enough to know that means my tires need balanced. Around about the same time, my husband noted that one of my tires looked low. Who knows how long it’d been like that – because quite frankly, I never notice such things. He was right. It was low, like down to 18psi low. Clearly, something was wrong with that tire. So, for the last two months, I’ve been filling it up with air every two or three […]

I’m never going to be a “Closer”.

In baseball, you have three kinds of pitchers: Starters, Relievers and Closers. Technically, it’s only two, but the Closer is the best of the best when it comes to Relievers, so I think they deserve their own category. Now, honestly, when it comes to business and business-based analogies – this might be a stretch for you. Especially if you aren’t quite as into baseball as I am. But, I had a great big epiphany today, and for me, baseball is the best way to fully wrap my brain around the concept. So, the epiphany… I was talking to my husband this […]

Starting Fresh with New Year: Why That’s the Stupidest Thing I’ve Ever Done.

I’m inherently the kind of person who is always striving for something. I’m not happy if I don’t have a mountain to climb or some reason to push through. I’m ill contented if someone tries to force me to settle, and I find it impossible to be okay with average. This causes a lot of turmoil. (Thank goodness for the people who know this about me, and are still here). Every year as the new year approaches…and even though it’s only early November, you must recognize, as I have, that it’s approaching at break-neck speed. It will be here before […]
